It is the most wonderful time of the year in NYC. We are in mid-May, meaning without warning we can experience anything from torrential downpours to sweltering heat at the drop of a dime. For natives like myself, May signifies the beginning of pre-summer ’18, and you know what that means? Tons of opportunities to explore the city on the cheap, and get that body in check with so many different fitness classes that are FREE 99.
One of my favorites, The Sweat Sessions, held every summer in the Meatpacking District at 14th Street Park, is back with their Summer 2018 line-up, and of course, they are bringing heat (pun intended) with their class offerings. The sessions kick off on Tuesday, May 22nd, and are held every Tuesday evening, with the exception of holidays, with 45 minute classes held at 6PM, 7PM, and 8PM. Check out the lineup below for the first two weeks, and be sure to RSVP ASAP!

The Sweat Sessions at 14th Street Park
Summer is quickly approaching, and for most of us, there is still some work we still want to do with our bodies. Whether it be to drop a few pounds to fit in that curve-hugging dress for your best friend’s wedding, tightening up your gluten so you look slamming in that teeny bikini, or just getting active to feel better about ourselves, working out gets us there in many ways. For those who live in NYC, we are a little spoiled when it comes to free activities, and the summertime is FULL of free fitness sessions for all.
Back for another go is the Sweat Sessions. Presented by the Meatpacking Business Improvement District in collaboration with the Wellth Collective, the Sweat Sessions holds three 45 minute varied style fitness classes every Tuesday at 6, 7, and 8 PM through August 29th. Classes include yoga, pilates, HIIT, dance-inspired, and bootcamp style workouts from some of the most popular trainers and studios in the city.

So you want to be summertime fine, but you’re low on dimes? The approaching summer season is the best time to experience free fitness classes in NYC, both in studio, and al fresco. Manhattan’s Meatpacking District has teamed up with wellness-driven design firm Wellthily to offer a full series of gratis fitness classes called Sweat Sessions, at Hudson River Park’s 14th St. Park.
Taking place on Tuesday nights between May 10 – August 30th, there are three 45 minute sessions that you are able to take part in, from some of the city’s most popular studios, trainers, and gyms. The May sessions are now live, which you can check out below.
