Introducing #TheFeelGoodProject Talks, Featuring DJs Olivia Dope, Tiff McFierce & Twelve45, 4/18/18 at Canal Street Market

The Feel Good Project, Talks

On April 18, 2018, A Life In The Day of Andrea will celebrate its 7th birthday. Over the past seven years, I have used my platform to share, converse, highlight, and connect with some of my favorite brands, people, locales, and experiences. As a blog, my focus has been the written word and photographs, but I have always yearned to make the experience one that can be lived out in real life. With that being said, I am launching #TheFeelGoodProject as a means to bring my online experience offline.

I love having conversations with people, and have done this on the blog via my #MANday & #WOMANday features over the years. #TheFeelGoodProject will be a series of live offline conversations and self-care sessions. For my first edition of #TheFeelGoodProject , Talks, I will be producing a conversation entitled “Last Night The DJ Saved My Life”. Alongside DJs Olivia Dope, Tiff McFierce, and Twelve45, we will discuss why we love music so much (this blog started off as more of a music site), and how important it is to create community on the dance floor. Details below.

Event: Live At Lyons Wier, “The B-613 Mix” w/ DJ Olivia Dope, June 19th at Lyons Wier Gallery

For this week’s installment of Live At Lyons Wier, we’ve got a special treat! My homegirl DJ Olivia Dope will be spinning 90’s jams for “The B-613 Mix” (Scandal reference anyone?). Along with jammy jams from Miss Dope, there will be a live soul/r&b performance by Mattie Safer.

The evening also hosts the opening of the “Voyeur” group exhibition, curated by Dina Brodsky. The event takes place Thursday, June 19th from 6-9 PM. Not to be missed!

Check out the video re-cap below of last week’s “Live At Lyons Wier” event, featuring “The Slique Mix” by DJ Lighthouse.

Budding entrepreneur Angela Simmons hosted a presentation for her fashion lifestyle site, AngelaIAm, on February 11th at 404 on the west side of Manhattan. Presented in part by Monster and Sugar Factory, guests were treated to eye candy in models aligning the front wall of the space rocking the latest from Angela’s site, along with a candy bar set-up from Sugar Factory.

The evening brought out a bevy of attendees, including many writers and photographers, reality stars, musicians and more. The lights were blue throughout, playing into the #ElectricDaze theme. The second floor hosted vendor pop-ups from Monster, handbag lines, and a dog accessory line. TJ Mizell (son of Jam Master Jay) provided tunes for the evening. Check out photos in the gallery below.

The after-party for #ElectricDaze was held at The Griffin in the Meatpacking District, known for their very strict door policy. I arrived with my homegirl and one of the DJs of the night, Olivia Dope, to snap the night away, and document an eventful evening.

Angela Simmons was quite gracious, posing for the photo above with me, and later rocking it in the DJ booth alongside TJ Mizell. The night was definitely full of dancing, both on the floor and on chairs, and good vibes all around. Check the party photos below.
