Introducing #TheFeelGoodProject Talks, Featuring DJs Olivia Dope, Tiff McFierce & Twelve45, 4/18/18 at Canal Street Market

The Feel Good Project, Talks

On April 18, 2018, A Life In The Day of Andrea will celebrate its 7th birthday. Over the past seven years, I have used my platform to share, converse, highlight, and connect with some of my favorite brands, people, locales, and experiences. As a blog, my focus has been the written word and photographs, but I have always yearned to make the experience one that can be lived out in real life. With that being said, I am launching #TheFeelGoodProject as a means to bring my online experience offline.

I love having conversations with people, and have done this on the blog via my #MANday & #WOMANday features over the years. #TheFeelGoodProject will be a series of live offline conversations and self-care sessions. For my first edition of #TheFeelGoodProject , Talks, I will be producing a conversation entitled “Last Night The DJ Saved My Life”. Alongside DJs Olivia Dope, Tiff McFierce, and Twelve45, we will discuss why we love music so much (this blog started off as more of a music site), and how important it is to create community on the dance floor. Details below.

Event Re-Cap: Maison Kitsuné Launches Their SS15 #EFFORTLESSFRENCH Collection + Kitsuné New Faces II Compilation Release

On the evening of Thursday, February 19th, the folks at French fashion & music label Maison Kitsuné launched their Spring/Summer ’15 #EFFORTLESSFRENCH collection in-store at their NoMAD location on the corner of Broadway and 28th Street. Having attended the presentation back at The Standard in September, I was quite excited to see what the full collection would look like on hangers.

Upon entering the store with two of my girlfriends, I was greeted by a room full of impeccably-dressed, beautiful people.

The women’s collection was the first bit of apparel I was able to scan, containing a pallet of white, black, bubblegum pink, salmon, and navy. I had really enjoyed the lightheartedness of the collection when I saw the presentation, and I was quite happy to see that it translated well to retail.

Saturday Sounds: Kaytranada “In The Mix”, Presented by i-D

It’s Saturday, and you know what that means? Time for more jammy jams selected by yours truly. I’ve been listening to the booty popping amazingness that is Kaytranada for a few months now, mainly his superb (and wildly popular) remix of Janet Jackson’s “If”.

During my most recent jaunt of Soundcloud trolling, I came across a live mix he did in East London in February, presented by the folks over at i-D. It’s definitely one of my favorite sets to date by him as it has a super funky-house vibe. Press play below to get into it!
