MAGIC Spotlight: Bri Seeley

Bri Seeley at her booth in the POOL Tradeshow

The MAGIC tradeshow in Vegas this past week was a culmination of many shows representing various aspects of the fashion industry. These include womenswear, menswear, footwear, sourcing, independent designers, and more. Given the immense size of the show and even larger amount of exhibitors, the shows took place between the Las Vegas Convention Center and Mandalay Bay Convention Center. We spent our time at Mandalay Bay, focusing on PROJECT, which is the show for contemporary fashion. Within PROJECT, there were the subcategories of Menswear, Womenswear, Shoes, Workroom, and Pool.

Pool was one of my favorites, as it featured independent designers. One such designer is Bri Seeley. Her designs stood out to me as they are incredibly feminine and wearable, using high quality fabrics. I snapped the photo above at her booth; she is wearing her own design.

Born in Minnesota and based in Washington state, Bri Seeley “provides unique fashions for inspired women”. Her designs are a juxtaposition of historical elements mixed with contemporary stylings, as she has a background in costume design. Above is one of my favorite looks from her 2012 collection; a seafoam poet sleeve mini-dress. Aside from the color, I love it because it completely wearable with a whimsical feel. All of her designs are made with love in the United States. You can’t beat that! I encourage you all to take a look at her designs, and hope it inspires a new purchase. Happy shopping!
