From A Fan’s Perspective: Hot 97 & Coors Light Present N*E*R*D

What can I say, I love N*E*R*D…what girl doesn’t like Pharrell? I have been a fan since “In Search Of…” (word) and jump at the opportunity to see them live when they are in town. Last night was one such night. My dear friend Iran (@buzygurl) had an extra ticket and was so gracious to invite me out. The event was entitled “Hot 97 &Coors Light Present: N*E*R*D” and took place at Highline Ballroom. The line to get into the venue was decent as tickets weren’t sold prior, but won on Hot 97. I actually bumped into my homies Dave (@dofoxymorrons) and Frank (@FrankieP325). It was almost like a mini college reunion! Once arriving in the venue we held down a spot right in front of the stage (standing room of course), and jammed to the tunes the DJ was playing prior to the acts. The winner of the “Search for the Coldest” contest opened up the show with two songs, followed by Cali representers PacDiv (Pacific Division). Their set was about 30 minutes and hyped the crowd up for the headliner, N*E*R*D. As usual, they brought incredible energy and live instrumentation to their set, performing tracks spanning their career. High points in the show included “Everyone Nose” with a surprise appearance from Pusha T performing his verse from the remix, “Lap Dance”, “Spaz” (which turned into a mosh on-stage and off), “Bobby James”, and “Hypnotize U”. I had a great time with old friends and new. Check out my photos and videos below.
